How to Create Videos and Short Movies With Studio on Samsung Galaxy Phones

While the Android 14 update has been underwhelming from Google, Samsung has jam-packed the Android 14-based One UI 6 software with many hidden features. One such add-on is Studio, which is a part of the default Gallery app. You can create stunning videos and mesmerizing short movies with Studio on your Samsung phone. Here’s a detailed guide on using Studio on Galaxy phones.

Note: Studio add-on is available on One UI 6-running Samsung phones only. The latest software is accessible in the beta program in selected regions only.

What Is Studio on Galaxy Phones

The default Gallery app on Samsung Galaxy phones is already feature-rich. It comes with dozens of photo and video editing tools to tweak your media files like a pro. Following the One UI 6 update, Samsung has added a Studio add-on to create short videos or movies out of your existing library.

You can add stickers, music, tweak the video aspect ratio, and play with dozens of options to create a trendy movie on the go. Although it’s available on all Samsung devices running One UI 6, the entire movie-making experience is most suitable on Galaxy phones and tablets with S Pen support. A stylus offers precise content over the video timeline and an error-free editing setup.

Although it’s the first version of Studio, Samsung has left no stone unturned and packed it with useful features. You can either access Studio from the Gallery app or add it as a shortcut on the home screen or the app drawer.

How to Add Studio App Shortcut in App Drawer

If you frequently use Studio to make quick movies, add it as a shortcut in the app drawer or the home screen. Here’s how.

1. Open Gallery and click the More menu at the bottom.

2. Tap Go to Studio.

3. Tap the three-dot menu at the top and go to Settings.

4. Enable the Show Studio on Apps screen toggle.

You can now access Studio with a single swipe from the home screen.

How to Create a New Movie Project in Samsung Studio

Now that you have a clear idea of Studio and its features, let’s check it in action and create some videos to impress your friends and followers.

1. Open Studio on your phone.

2. Tap Start new project at the bottom.

3. Select photos and videos from the following menu. You can select up to 60 media files for your single project. Hit Done at the top.

4. By default, it uses the portrait mode (9:16 aspect ratio) for your movie. You can tap on the three-dot menu at the top and open Project settings to change the aspect ratio.

If you plan to share a short movie as a Reel or Story on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, stick with the vertical setup. On the flip side, if you want to view your videos on a giant TV or projector, change it to 16:9 for an ideal streaming experience.

Once you select photos and videos for your movie, Studio presents several add-ons to create the perfect movie.

Add Text

You can add text to any video frame in your movie. You can tap the T icon at the bottom and enter text. You can change the text color, style, position, and size using the left sidebar. Your text remains on the specific photo or video only. Studio doesn’t apply the same to the entire movie.

Apply Stickers

This is another neat add-on from Samsung. You can tap the stickers icon and check dozens of sticker packs to choose from. You can also download more stickers from the Galaxy Store.

The default sticker collection is quite diverse, and you can easily find the sticker you are looking for.

Add Blank Clip

Do you want to add a blank frame to your movie? It can be handy to use it as a ‘Thank You’ message or for another purchase in your movie. When you are in the editing interface, tap the + icon and select Blank clip. You can add an image or video from the same menu.

Dazzle Your Movie With Audio Tracks

Your movie is lifeless without a relevant audio track in it. You can tap the music icon at the bottom and tap Soundtracks. Samsung offers dozens of music tracks to choose from. You can also select a track from your Samsung phone.

Unfortunately, there is no way to add a track from Spotify, YouTube Music, or Amazon Music. Considering Samsung’s close partnership with Spotify, we would have loved to see Spotify integration in Studio.

Share Movies With Others

Once you are done with all the editing options, hit Done at the top. You can check the movie’s size, name, duration, and other details. Tap the three-dot menu and share your creation with others.

Create Stunning Memories in No Time

While there are several short movie-making tools in the Play Store, Samsung’s take with Studio has been commendable and should be good enough for starters. What are you waiting for? Create trendy short clips from your vacation photos and share them on social media.

8 Best Android Apps for Netflix Users

The pandemic has locked us into our houses and we are streaming Netflix more than ever. While I won’t comment on the quality of Netflix originals (that’s for another day), the Netflix app itself feels incomplete. It’s restrictive when it comes to searching and finding content or for that matter, quality content. It’s a jungle and you need Android apps for Netflix to find what you are looking for–quality content.

These Netflix-centric Android apps will let you integrate IMDB ratings, unlock international shows, and let you watch Netflix with your friends remotely. There is so much more you can do with these apps. Curious enough?

Best Android Apps for Netflix Users

1. Flutter

Netflix pushes a lot of originals every month and not everything is worth your time. Enter Flutter, an app that shows you IMDB ratings of shows and movies; that would be of great assistance. Once you have the app installed, whenever you open a show on Netflix, it’ll show you a small overlay at the bottom-right with the show’s release year and IMDB rating which are a good parameter to judge movie/series’ quality.

Flutter supports Netflix, Google Play Movies & TV, PrimeTV, Disney+, and Hotstar too. It works well with all these apps, however, at times it fails with the newly released shows that have lower IMDB scores.

2. MissingFlix

MissingFlix is a great app to watch content from around the world. For instance, I just discovered a documentary on Jeffrey Epstein that’s missing from the Indian catalog. It’s available on Netflix UK, Germany, Russia, etc. So now, I can just point my VPN to that particular country server and watch the series. MissingFlix lists out all the missing and available series and movies in your Netflix region.

3. Paid VPN

Now, that you know what are the geo-restricted contents and how to discover them using Android apps for Netflix, you’d need a VPN app to watch it. At TechWiser, we have created a list of free VPNs that we recommend. However, none of the free VPNs except the Opera browsers’ inbuilt VPN unlocks geo-restricted content on Netflix. OperaVPN has its own set of privacy concerns and it doesn’t work outside the Opera browser. So, you’ll have a hard time using it with Netflix.

Hence, to overcome all these complexities, I recommend getting a paid VPN instead. They usually cost around $3-$5/month but promise maximum privacy. Some of the options are premium versions of ProtonVPN, Surfshark VPN, or NordVPN. We tested all of these and they seem to work thoroughly on Netflix.

4. TV Time

It’s hard to keep track of things with so many movies, TV shows, and originals releasing every month. In fact, it’s even harder to keep track of movies and shows you’ve already watched. TV Time is an Android app for Netflix that handles pretty much all of this. It keeps track of shows that you have watched, shows that you should watch, and newly released seasons based on your watch history. In case you have finished a season, it sends you a reminder of the show when a new season is released.

However, you’ve to be patient with TV Time. It requires some data and time to learn your streaming interests and behavior. Post that, the recommendations and alerts about newly released shows are on point.

5. Dinggo

Dinggo is basically Tinder-for Netflix. It has the same Tinder-like swipe process wherein it recommends Netflix shows and originals to you. Swipe left if you don’t like the show and right if you do. As you go about disliking and liking shows, the app’s algorithm starts gauging you better and provides better suggestions.

6. Netflix Remote

Imagine watching a Netflix season with your roommates or family with your laptop out there far from your reach. Now, you have to lower the volume or skip past 10-20 secs. You’d normally have to reach out for your laptop but be lazy and use Netflix Remote. It lets you control your Netflix session on your laptop right from your Android.

All you have to do is install the Netflix Chrome extension on your computer and open the Netflix remote webpage on your mobile. Next, scan the QR code and you are good to go. The user Netflix Android app lets you control volume, play/pause a movie, or seek 10 secs. A must-have if you watch a lot of Netflix.

7. Fast

Netflix way back launched an option in the mobile app to check your Internet speed. It isn’t that popular and buried inside the Netflix settings. Nonetheless, it’s quite handy and useful. To use it, head over to the More tab and tap on “App Settings”. Tap on “Internet speed test” under the Diagnostics section.

8. Rave

We all are missing those long binge sessions with our friends or significant others. You cannot really have the same experience but you can replicate a bit of it. I use Rave to binge-watch Netflix series with my friends remotely. It’s easy to set up and you can check our detailed guide on it. However, do note that all of your friends would need a separate Netflix account.

Best Movie Tracking Apps That Sync With Trakt on Android

Trakt is undoubtedly the most popular movie tracking service with a ton of great features like in-built calendar support, Movie suggestions, reminders for the next season and it also shows on which service the movie or show is available. But it doesn’t have official app support to use on the phone. Anyhow, Trakt also offers to sync your watchlist access apps. Here are the best third-party movie tracking apps that also syncs with Trakt.

Best Trakt Client Apps on Android

1. Trakt Web App

Though Trakt doesn’t have native app support, you can still use the website as an app. On your Android, open the Trakt website in your chrome browser, next tap on the three-dot menu, and then tap on “Add to Homescreen”. This will add the shortcut to the website on your home screen. To quickly access, the website, simply tap on the Trakt icon on the home screen and use Trakt in a full-screen view just like an app. You can access all the features of Trakt and also use an interface you are already familiar with.

Anyhow, there are a lot of problems with this approach. For one, notifications and reminders don’t work properly. The website is also not perfectly optimized for the mobile version. The options and icons are too small for a touch interface.

Open Trakt

2. CineTrak

Best Sync with Trakt

CenTrak is another popular moving tracking app that feels similar to the Trakt website. You can rate for the movies and TV shows and also check out related ones. The best part about this app is it brings the latest movies to the forefront and also provides a calendar view for upcoming movies.

But this app isn’t completely perfect. It doesn’t show you the trailer either show you where you can watch the movie or the show. It also lacks functionality when it comes to showing history, notifications, etc. Movie recommendations from this are also not synced with Trakt and suggest many movies that you have already watched and are on your completed watchlist already. Anyhow it provides other options like linking to justwatch.com, IMDB, Google, LetterBoxd, Amazon, etc.

Download CineTrak

3. TV Show Tracker

Features Packed Service

As the name says, TV Show Tracker is an app that concentrates more on the tv shows than on movies. This app is good at managing episodes and getting notified about the next seasons for the TV shows you have already watched. It also supports all the features of Trakt like rating, commenting, providing more info about the show, provides the trailer on YouTube, etc.

But it misses out on one key feature that is, it doesn’t show you on which service the TV show or the movie is available for you to watch. Comparing to other apps, the app may not provide the best UI but definitely provides the most features from the Trakt.

Download TV Show Tracker

4. Hobi

Takes a Minimal Approach

Comparing to all the other apps, Hobi has the least sync with the Trakt. While most apps in the list only work when you sync it with Trakt, Hobi provides an option to create an own account in Hobi without any sync. Even after connecting the service to Trakt, the features are extremely limited.

All you can do is add the movies, TV Shows, seasons, or episodes to your watched list or watchlist. Additionally, you checkout recommendations on the discover tab and statistics on the statistics tab. You don’t have any kind of info about the movie, cast, or even duration of each episode. But still, this makes a good option if all you prefer is the watchlist, recommendations, notifications with the cleanest, and minimal user interface.

Download Hobi

5.  Showly

For the fans of TV Shows

Showly takes a completely different approach and only shows TV shows and features related to it. You don’t find a single movie, even the movies that are related to TV shows like El Camino. Similar to the Hobi, Showly also chooses to be more minimal but by offering the maximum number of features as possible. You get the option to rate, comment, etc that is completely in sync with the Trakt. The real advantage of Showly is notifications and tracking the next episodes and next seasons which is something you really need when tracking TV shows.

The only disadvantage is it mixes the watchlist of the shows you are interested in and also upcoming seasons of the shows you have already watched. Though it’s fine for most people, I would like to separate them into different lists.

How to Disable “Are You Still Watching?” Prompt on Netflix

If you are an avid Netflix user, you might have noticed the controversial, ‘Are you Still Watching’ Prompt. This usually pops up, when Netflix suspects the user has stopped watching the show. Usually, this helps Netflix to save your data and also their bandwidth, but if you are binge-watching, having such pop-ups in the middle is just annoying. Anyhow, while you can’t disable it from Netflix settings, you can use a third-party chrome extension on your Desktop. Here’s how.

How to Disable Netflix’s “Are You Still Watching?” Prompt on Desktop

If you are using Chrome or any Chromium-based browsers like edge which supports Chrome extensions, you can use this Chrome extension “Never Ending Netflix” or  “Netflix Pause Removal“.

Netflix Pause Removal is made to only remove this still watching prompt whereas Never Ending Netflix also provides the option to skip title sequences, ending credits, Auto Play Promoted Videos, etc. If you are looking for a non-distractive binge-watching experience, I highly recommend you to use Never Ending Netflix.

Anyhow Never Ending Netflix add-on isn’t available on the Firefox extension store, so you can use the Netflix Pause Removal add-on.

Disable “Are You Still Watching?” Prompt on TV and Mobile

Unlike on the desktop, there’s no option to stop this prompt on the TV and Mobile. Anyhow you can either engage with the app with things changing volume, skipping the title sequences or just manually starting the next episode by stoping the autoplay feature.

You can disable the autoplay feature for each profile by selecting the profile > account > playback settings and turn off “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices” and click save. That’s it, now all you need to do click on the next episode button. Autoplay next episode settings on Netflix

Wrapping Up

Though the prompt is annoying, Netflix’s reasoning is to save the people’s data and claims that they are saving an average of 2 billion GB of data every week around the world. This feature also helps Netflix to save their bandwidth, therefore much faster streaming for people who are watching. So do you think this app is useful or is this just an annoying interruption? Do let me know in the comments below.

Pandemic Movies on Netflix You Can Watch Right Now!

The streets are deserted as the city enters the third day of lockdown. It feels almost like a movie scene from “I am Legend” and every time I walk outside my apartment, I feel closer to a post-apocalyptic world. Well don’t imagine me as Will Smith (at least for now) but this self-quarantine made me interested in the post-apocalyptic genre again. So, whether you’re watching it alone or along with your friends, here is a list of pandemic movies that you can Netflix right now!

Pandemic Movies on Netflix

1. Pandemic

Pandemic: How to prevent an outbreak is a docuseries unusually relevant to the current times. A six-part series on the preparedness of the world in terms of dealing with a new pandemic, it starts with a theory that the world is fast approaching a deadly virus. The uncanny similarities between the series and the present-day situation of health care workers dying while treating affected patients, overworked doctors and overcrowded hospitals in the under-developed and developing countries is a reality check on the health care system across countries.

As real as it can get, Pandemic is an enlightening, educational and extraordinary production.

Genre: Social & Cultural Documentaries

Number of Episodes: 6

Duration: 50 mins.

IMDb Rating 6.3 | Watch Pandemic

2. 93 Days

Directed by Steve Gukas, it’s based on a true story. 93 Days takes us back to the Ebola Outbreak in 2014. While the story revolves around how it arrives with a Liberian American diplomat entering Nigeria and health workers’ heroic attempt to contain it. If I’ve to put it in one word, I’d say the movie is courageous and shows the altruistic spirit that everyone should nourish in themselves in times of distress. It is also considered to pay homage to Stella Adadevoh, who is considered to have played a pivotal role in containing the spread of Ebola in Nigeria.

This might be not for everyone as some might find it a bit slow. Provided there it’s based on a true story and grounded on emotions rather than nerve-wrenching scenes.

Genre: Drama Thriller

Duration: 118 mins.

IMDb Rating 6.0 | Watch 93 Days

3. Explained (This Next Pandemic)

If you love the content VOX Media produces, Explained is another series produced by them, available on Netflix. Although there are 2 seasons in total, I’ll talk about this particular episode in the second season that gained my interest, titled ‘The Next Pandemic”. This particular episode is a discussion on global Pandemics and how they spread. With appearances like Bill Gates, where he discussed the first of such pandemics with other experts. As the name suggests(Explained), it gives you an insight into not only the history and what a pandemic is but also how new methods for possible prevention.

“If anything kills over 10 million people in the next few decades, it’s most likely to be a highly infectious virus rather than a war – not missiles, but microbes,” Bill Gates (TED Talk)

Genre: Documentary

Duration: 20 mins.

IMDb Rating 8.0 | Watch Explained

4. Doomsday Preppers

It’s better to be prepared than to wait and suffer right? This reality show originally hosted by National Geographic shows you exactly that. From families preparing for biological terrorist attacks to intense F5 tornadoes. These preppers are the fight all odds to prove that they can survive efficiently.  If nothing else this show will at least show you various meticulously doomsday survival plans.

Whether you watch it for pure entertainment or to learn some new tactics for the wild, Season 2 is the highest-rated season available on Netflix

Genre: Reality-TV

Number of Episodes: 18

Duration: 45 mins.

IMDb Rating  6.1 |Watch Doomsday Preppers

5. Inferno

Dante defined our conception of hell 700 years ago but these circles of hell have been re-arranged

The damned line by Tom Hanks from Inferno was enough for me to re-watch this movie during this ‘never-ending’ lockdown. ‘Inferno’ directed by Ron Howard is based on Dan Brown’s book by the same name. Starring Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones ‘Inferno’ unfurls the plot of overpopulation, man-made plague and amnesia.

Robert Langdon and Sienna Brookes played by Hanks and Jones respectively are trying to control this plague which has been unleashed by Dr. Bertrand Zobrist, the mad scientist who is hell-bent on solving the world population problem. To know about this a little more, go and watch this brilliant adaptation. Also, one more perk – our favorite actor Irrfan Khan has a little role too, which is definitely a scene-stealer.

Genre: Mystery

Duration: 121 mins.

IMDb Rating 6.2 | Watch Inferno

6. 12 Monkeys

12 Monkeys is a 1995 movie showcasing the release of a deadly virus in 1996, by an Army of the Twelve Monkeys. The virus ends up wiping out most of the Earth’s population, forcing survivors to live underground. The movie is a science fiction, where the protagonist is made to travel time in order to find the origin of the virus and develop a cure. Directed by Terry Gilliam, this movie is a visual treat with a gripping storyline.

The movie earned Bradd Pitt his first OSCAR Nomination and he also won the Golden Globe Award for best-supporting actor.

Genre: Sci-Fi

Duration: 129 mins.

IMDb Rating 8.0 | Watch 12 Monkeys

7. Carriers

Carrier is a movie where four friends seek shelter to save themselves from the deadly virus which has spread worldwide, killing most of the human population. The story revolves around the escape and the subsequent spread of the endangering virus amongst the group of friends. Though for many this is an engaging end-of-the-world drama, for others it is not appealing enough with an unsatisfactory ending.

Given the time you have in your hand right now, this might be an interesting watch if you are looking for a mix of horror and beyond-reality-drama.

Genre: Adventure Thriller

Duration: 85 mins.

IMDb Rating 6.0 | Watch Carriers

8. It Comes at Night

“Fear turns men into monsters” does it? Well, you’ll know your answer at the end of this pandemic. But before that, you should definitely watch “It comes at night” by widely acclaimed director Trey Edward Shultz. This post-apocalyptic psychological thriller will leave you unnerved and unhinged. “It comes at night” is about a couple and their teenage son. A plague has apparently wiped out humanity, and the last man left will do anything to protect his family, but the main lead Travis the teenage boy wants a world beyond this post-apocalyptic environment. So when a young couple with their kid comes and lives with Travis’s family, a chain of events breaks loose.

Watch this not so typical horror and be ready for a few jumps here and there. Also, keep a check on the ‘Red door’.

Genre: Mystery

Duration: 91 mins.

IMDb Rating 6.2 | Watch It Comes at Night

9. Outbreak

Based on Richard Preston‘s nonfiction book The Hot Zone. The outbreak is a movie Directed by  Wolfgang Petersen. It’s about a virus that originated in the jungles of Africa in 1967, which is eventually contained by destroying ground zero by U.S Army officials. However, it doesn’t stop there. It makes a comeback in the year 1995 but through a primate which is smuggled into the US soil. What makes the movie further is its direction and the prospect of such diseases lurking in remote places only to find a way to come into our mundane lives and affect us. Anyhow, watch the movie and try to remain calm, as someone even with a slight cough might make you uncomfortable.

Genre: Thriller

Duration: 127 mins.

IMDb Rating 6.6 | Watch Outbreak

10. Black Mirror

With six Emmy awards, Black Mirror is a series that got me hooked from the start with its dystopian storyline. Created by Charlie Brooker it gives us humans a reality check about how ignorant and isolated we have become to the outside world. The entire series targets a lot of myriad areas but if I have to suggest an episode that is a must-watch, I’ll go with, ‘Fifteen Million Merits’ starring Daniel Kaluuya, where people spend most of their time in a high-tech enclosed environment.

Though we’re not as technology-obsessed as the episode’s storyline, it does bear a lot of similarities with the present-day ‘work-from-home’ culture and maybe we hit a point where the desperate need to earn currency makes us perform mundane at home.

Genre: TV Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Duration: 62 mins.

IMDb Rating 8.1 | Watch Black Mirror

Closing Remarks

So, since you have enough time in your hand now. Stay in and prevent the widespread. This might be the right opportunity to binge-watch Netflix and come out to a better place. Carrier, It comes at Night and Outbreak are movies which might not be available in your country, you can use a VPN to bypass that and enjoy these. So, here was my list of pandemic movies that you can Netflix right now! If you’ve more such movies, do let me know in the comments.

How to Watch IMDb TV Outside of the US?

Contrary to popular belief, you can, in fact, legally watch movies and TV shows online for free. There are a few websites that offer the service for free and have a decent catalog. One of those services is IMDb TV, it has a catalog of popular movies like The Social Network, Gravity, Megamind, Hacksaw Ridge, and La La Land. Some of the popular TV Shows include Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, The A-Team, Dallas, etc.

IMDb TV is an entirely free but ad-supported service for watching TV shows and movies. The only caveat is that IMDb TV is available only in the United States. However, you can still watch it outside the U.S, let’s see how.

Watch IMDb TV outside the U.S

1. On a Web Browser

Step 1: Head over to IMDb.com/tv with a web browser on your computer, You will see this error message “IMDb TV is only available to customers in the U.S at this time“.

IMDb TV unavailable outside of the US

To fix this error, you just need a good VPN. Install a VPN on your computer if you haven’t already. Turn it on and connect to the U.S server, but you can experiment to see which one works best for you. I’m using the Smart DNS Proxy VPN server, and it worked on Los Angeles Servers on some devices and New York Servers on the others.

Step 2: Now, if you go back to the IMDb TV page and refresh it, it should show you a normal screen where you will have to login or create an account. Tap the Sign in button to proceed.

Step 3: If you already have an IMDb account then you’d have to create a new account, as IMDb links your original country location to the account. Just create a new account with the VPN on and you should be fine.

log in or create an account on IMDb

Step 4: After creating an account, log in to IMDb. You might have to verify your email and once you do that, you can watch IMDb TV for free outside of the U.S.

The entire catalog is ad-supported, and there is no way to pay to remove the ads, and the ads are unskippable, just like a regular TV but without the cable subscription.

2. On an App

While there are no dedicated IMDb TV apps for Android and iOS, you can still watch IMDb TV using the standard IMDb app. But, it’s quite tricky, let me show you how it works on Android, and the steps should be the same for iOS as well.

Step 1: Start by installing the IMDb app from the Play Store or the App Store. Don’t open it yet, because even if you open it, there is no option to play IMDB TV. To get around this problem, we’ll use a mobile browser on your smartphone.

Step 2: Just like we did on the computer, open a VPN app and connect to a U.S server and keep it running.

Step 3: Next, open the web browser on your smartphone and log in to your account on IMDb. Make sure it’s the same account that we created in the previous method.

Step 4: After logging in, you will see a page like this, tap on a movie or video which you want to play, and it’ll redirect you to watch it on your IMDb app. The video should play right after an ad.

Final Thoughts: Watch IMDb TV outside the US

Overall, thanks to Amazon deals with production houses such as Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Entertainment, etc, IMDb TV offers a good catalog over other free streaming services.

There are unskippable ads, you can’t download tv shows or movies for offline use, there is no parental control and the interface isn’t as good as Netflix (actually it’s based on Amazon Prime). However, for a free streaming service, I’m fine with all of that.

The only downside I see here is that the search feature on IMDb TV isn’t as good as Netflix. There is no option to find movies and TV shows based on their genre as you can do in another streaming service. I hope this gets fixed with future developments.

Best Apps for Movie Lovers

Whether you’re a film enthusiast, who just got his MoviePass renewed or want to know when is the right time to go pee in the middle of the movie, check out the best apps for every movie cinemagoer. Let’s begin.

Before we begin, I’m not going to list the most obvious one like IMDb, Netflix, Fandango, etc as you might already be using them. Instead, we’re going to check out some of the lesser known but incredibly useful apps.

Best Apps for Movie Lovers

1. RunPee

Movies are generally not that long nowadays, but Avengers: Endgame with its 182-minute runtime contributed to a large number of unofficial trips to the bathroom and a lot of missed scenes. Not chugging a large soda during the movie is one but RunPee is the better alternative. Instead of asking the guy next to you what happened while you were gone, you can simply use RunPee, which tells you the best time to pee in a movie.

RunPee is a free app but you would have to purchase peecoins if you want to know about the peetimes of a recently released title. You can get the app on the Play Store and the App Store.

Install RunPee (Android | iOS)

2. Should I Wait?

So you made it till the end without missing any of the major scenes but now you’re wondering whether you should stay for the end credits scene. Well, the short answer is, of course, you should, however, if you have a bus to catch then probably you should install Should I Wait? app. It works on a poll system where all the users who have watched the movie vote if the movie has a post-credits scene or not.

Should I Wait is a handy tool in figuring out whether the app has a post credit scene, however, if the app goes dud, there are other options as well.

Install Should I Wait? (Android)

3. Letterboxd

Don’t you get the urge to talk to someone right after you’ve finished an awesome movie? Yeah, same. Letterboxd is a wonderful social media app for movies, all the movie fans are here and they share their reviews for the films the just watched, have discussions and leave comments. Think of it like Facebook and IMDb had a lovechild. The app tells you stats like cast, crew, studio, genre, the number of people who’ve watched it, likes, etc. The best feature of this movie is the list feature. You can add movies to your watchlist for later but wait there’s more, people can share a custom playlist of movies which others can see and add the titles to their list. I discovered so many amazing movies that I didn’t know even existed.

Letterboxd is a decent app which allows you to keep a list of all the movies, discuss movie details, and read reviews. You can get the app for Android and iOS on the Play Store and the App Store respectively.

Install Letterboxd (Android | iOS)

4. itcher

What do you want to watch?’, I’ve asked this myself a couple of hundred times and still ended up watching the same five movies over and over again. itcher is a recommendation app which suggests movies based on your preference. Not just movies, the app recommends shows, books, artists, and games, you just have to start by voting for five different titles and you’ll get a whole feed of interesting and relevant titles. It also has a feature where you can configure the app to give you couple recommendations, you just have to add their itcher account in the app and it would match your preferences and suggest the best movies and shows which you can watch together, it is kind of like magic.

You can use itcher if you want to figure out which movies to watch based on your interests and preferences. Taste is another app which gives you suggestions based on your taste in movies. The app is free and you can get it for Android.

Install itcher (Android)

5. Dinggo!

If you have a subscription of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime or all three then you know how hard it is to pick something to watch on these services. Dinggo! makes it super easy for you to pick the right movie. It works just like tinder, once you enter your preferences, the would recommend movies and you can just start swiping.

It is a great app nonetheless and it’s available for Android and iOS.

Install Dinggo! ( Android | iOS)

6. Play Movie Trivia Games

Sometimes you just want to sit back and talk about movies with your friends, what’s a better way than trivia games. You can find hundreds of movie trivia games apps on the Play Store and App Store which will keep your pack entertained and hone your memory. Apps like Guess the Movie, Guess the Movie Quiz, Guess Movie 2018, Quiz Game, etc have an extensive list of questions and games which would keep the party going.

You can simply search for Movie quiz on the Play Store and the App Store to find the best games.

7. Trakt.TV

Trakt.TV is the one app you’ll need to sync all of your media content. For example, you have a digital copy of the TV show on your hard disk which is connected to your Plex Server or Kodi. Trakt.TV would keep track of how far along you’ve come in a season. It works like this, you create an account on Trakt.TV and then install the app for the media center on your computer or your device. After installing the apps, log in with the same account and you’re good to go. Trakt will keep track of your recently watched shows and notify you of any upcoming shows on your list.

How to Tell If a Movie Has a Post-Credits Scene?

No one used to stick around for credits until Marvel started dropping breadcrumbs for their sequels and then pretty much every other Hollywood studio followed suit. It is always a mystery if a movie has one unless it’s Marvel, you can either wait for the credits to roll or you can just use an app to find out if it is worth the effort to hold your pee for the credits scene. Let’s begin.

While you can always find the information about the post-credits scene with a simple google search, it’s good to have a dedicated app if you like watching movies within days of the release.

1. Should I Wait?

Should I Wait is a great community-powered polling app which tells you if the movie has a post-credits scene. You get an overview of the film, cast, rating, and the release date as the general overview of the movie. Along with that, the app lets you find and vote for the movies and if those have a scene during and after the credits.

To check if a movie has a post-credits scene, Install the app on your phone from the Play Store and Run the app. The app lists the latest releases on the top and chances are you’ll find the movie on the front page. However, you can always use the search bar on the top to look for any specific movie.

Tap any movie tile and it would open the page where you can watch the movie trailer, get the release date, etc with two poll charts. It shows a chart for scenes present during and after the end of the credits. You can even vote and help the poll be more consistent. Just tap the vote button on the bottom right and tap yes or no for both during and after credit scenes. To prevent spam votes, you can only vote once, the app doesn’t increase the counter even if you try again.

should I watch- vote

Should I Wait is a decent app where the user can take part in generating the polls, which in my opinion is awesome. However, this can be a bad thing as dislike mobs are a thing now, apparently. ‘Should I Wait’ is free for Android and is available on the Play Store.

Install Should I Wait (Android)

2. MediaStinger

MediaStinger is another popular movie app which shows you information about the post-credits scene. This app is one step ahead of ‘Should I Wait’ as it gives you info about movies, games, news, reviews, and trailers. You get the main details of a movie such as a user rating, release date, etc.

It offers more than just a yes or no poll results, you get a brief description of the end-credit screen as well. Don’t worry you won’t accidentally stumble upon spoilers as the credit scene description is hidden under a show more tag and if you want to actually read up on the scene you would have to tap the ‘+’ button to read more about the scene.

mediastinger

At the end of the page, it says if you should stay for the post-credits scene or not. This poll for the movie is recommended by the users and gives you a clear indication that the credits are worth staying for. You can also take part in the polls and voice your opinion by tapping the yes or no button on the bottom.

MediaStinger is a free app available for both the Play Store and the App Store.

Install MediaStinger (Android | iOS)

3. After Credits

So we’ve covered apps for both Android and iOS but wouldn’t it be nice if we had an app to check post-credits scene right from the Apple Watch? After Credits app lets you see the poll of movies with End-credits. The app is available for iOS and the users vote if the movie has a credits scene. Just like ‘Should I Wait’, it also collects the poll results from the users and updates the film list. You can vote if you’ve seen the movie to help other viewers and even add movie titles to the app if you can’t find a movie.

aftercredits

The best part about this app is that it is available for Apple Watch as well. So you don’t even have to take out your phone to quickly check if the current movie has a post-credits scene or not?

After Credits is available exclusively for iOS for $0.99 on the App Store.

Install After Credits (iOS, $0.99)

Check if the Movie has a Post-Credits Scene

These were three apps which you can use to figure out if the next movie you’ll watch has a post-credits scene. Should I Wait is the simplest app where the polls are based on users and only shows a yes or no result. MediaStinger is a more comprehensive app where you get much more information and a brief description of the credits scene. After Credits is just like Should I Wait but for iOS and you get Apple Watch support which is awesome. What do you think of these apps and would you use the apps next time you go watch a movie? Tell us in the comments below. Roll credits.
